The project
XQ.EUJOY is a project aimed at training young journalists, connecting organizations from three southern European countries (Italy, Spain and Portugal) and building a multilingual news portal with an educational function and a focus on media literacy: XQTheNews.
XQTheNews is a transnational news portal written by young journalists to counter disinformation, with the objective of sharing best practices between media professionals and promoting transnational cooperation between media and third sector organisations.
The project aims at overcoming the historical quality deficit of the youth press in Italy, Spain, Portugal and Southern Europe in general by studying and testing new collaboration mechanisms.
During the two-year project period, nine journalists had the opportunity to participate in an internship, five capacity-building sessions and eleven events, which strengthened their professional profile and skills.
