Media literacy and digital citizenship paths for the educating communities of the Turin belt.
The project
Open the Box – Extra! is an educational kit designed to bring education on digital topics to extra-curricular contexts.
The project aims to bridge the gap between the intensive use of digital media by young people (11-18 years old) and their skills in using digital tools critically.
It targets 15 third-sector organizations operating in the first belt of Turin, to train educators on topics such as combating disinformation and the use of generative AI.
Through an innovative and inclusive methodology, the trained individuals will lead interactive workshops with groups of young people, promoting an ethical, critical, and creative approach to digital tools. The program, which adopts a non-formal education model, concludes with a “Final Challenge” to test the skills acquired.
The objective is to transform young people into conscious actors in the digital world, while leaving lasting skills in the local area thanks to the training of the educating adults.
