MYTHiC is a project that aims to counteract the escalation of hate speech and hate crimes in the Calabria region.
The project
MYTHiC is a project that aims to counteract the escalation of hate speech and hate crimes in the Calabria region. It involves local authorities, schools, associations and communities, with a specific focus on secondary school students (aged 14-18).
The project aims to create a regional coalition against hate, train teachers and students in media literacy and human rights, activate support mechanisms for victims and promote awareness campaigns in five Calabrian cities (Catanzaro, Cosenza, Vibo Valentia, Reggio Calabria and Crotone).
Key activities will include training over 600 students and 150 teachers, setting up a network of “Equity Defenders” and involving 25 associations in a Coalition against Hate Speech.
MYTHiC combines educational interventions, local support and opportunities for exchange at European level, strengthening the resilience of local communities and combating hate speech through education.
