Project

The Open Data Portal of Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV) gives public access to data resulting from institutional research activities in the fields of Seismology, Volcanology, and Environment.

The data linked in this portal coincides with those in the INGV Data Registry, the tool to accomplish the Data Policy of the Institute enforced in 2019. INGV Data Registry contains metadata extensively describing any kind of data produced by INGV personnel alone or in cooperation with other organizations, and is meant to satisfy internal as well as external users’ demands. Items in the Data Registry are either plain datasets or well-structured heterogeneous collections of data.

Each dataset is credited to the author/s who contributed to its compilation, attesting that in the Open Science paradigm both people and their data deserve a foreground position.
