Fake Game – Smaschera la disinformazione
“Fake Game: Smaschera la Disinformazione!” represents an engaging learning experience on the topic of media literacy

The Project
The initiative represented a pioneering approach to digital education, combining media literacy training with the creativity of game design, involving six prestigious schools in Piedmont and the Aosta Valley: IIS Curie Levi in Collegno, ISILTeP in Verres (AO), IIS Vittorio Alfieri in Asti, IIS Francis Lombardi in Vercelli, IIS Ascanio Sobrero in Casale Monferrato (AL), and IIS Majorana in Grugliasco. The project was divided into several phases:
- Specialized training: High-profile experts held online lessons on topics of disinformation and conspiracy theories. The training, curated by Open The Box, provided students with scientific criteria and methodologies to recognize and critically analyze fake news.
- Game design education: Various types of video games and the tools available for their creation were presented, demonstrating how gaming can become a powerful educational vehicle. The training was curated by Marco Mazzaglia, Professor of Game Design at the Polytechnic University of Turin, and Matteo Uggeri, an expert in e-learning and gamification at the Polytechnic Foundation of Milan.
- Personalized tutoring: Starting in April, an online support service was activated to assist development teams, both experts and beginners, in defining concepts and choosing the most appropriate tools, managed by the LevelUpLab Student Association of the Polytechnic University of Turin.
