BRIF:

Young Europeans Bridging Facts Against Disinformation

A project on disinformation, polarization, and hate speech for young people in socio-economically vulnerable areas of Barcelona, Paris, and Naples.

The project

BRIF is a European project that aims to train young people in areas of socio-economic vulnerability in three European cities: Barcelona, Paris and Naples. The aim is to identify, understand and counter misinformation, polarisation and hate speech.

We collaborated with NGO professionals from Barcelona, Paris and Naples to co-create educational materials on Media and Information Literacy. BRIF stands out for its innovative approach of integrating Media Literacy skills and active citizenship actions. The project enables young people to develop the necessary skills to understand the digital information ecosystem and become active agents in combating.

Funding

The project is financed by the European Media and Information Fund (EMIF) of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

Partnership

The project took place in Italy, France and Spain in collaboration with: Pianoterra (Naples), Dataninja (Milan), Verificat (Barcellona), Square (Paris), BeChallenge (Barcelona)
