Over the past two years, Dataninja has been working on the Digital Literate project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme, which is now coming to an end. However, it leaves us with a valuable legacy of tools and resources that will continue to support teachers, educators, and facilitators in bringing digital culture into schools!
Digital Literate was created with a clear mission: to strengthen digital skills and media literacy in education. We have trained teachers in partner countries, sharing innovative methods for integrating digital education into school curricula. The training paths are cross-disciplinary and have proven useful for teachers of all subjects — from mathematics to literature.
From Lithuania to Italy, and from Portugal to Romania, the collaboration between universities, schools, and organisations has made it possible to build a shared pathway towards a more critical and reflective approach to education.
One of the project’s most significant outcomes is the Good Practice Catalogue, now available in open access. It brings together examples of good practice, tools, and ideas to make teaching more innovative and inclusive. This resource is designed for school professionals who wish to update their teaching approach by experimenting with new forms of digital learning.
On the project’s website, visitors can also access a MOOC – Massive Open Online Course, a free online programme that offers teachers the opportunity to explore topics related to digital citizenship, online safety, and the responsible use of media. The MOOC includes interactive modules, practical examples, and supporting materials to help integrate digital education into everyday teaching in an engaging and accessible way.
The Digital Literate journey concluded with an in-person meeting in Alcamo, Sicily, hosted by ITET “Girolamo Caruso”. During the event, partners reflected on the results achieved and discussed ways to ensure the continuation of the activities initiated.
Although the project is coming to an end, its resources will remain freely accessible to anyone wishing to deepen their understanding of digital and media literacy.
